A favorite holiday dish/food could work too (think of anything related to her culture). But be sure to check first if they have any allergies or some food sensitivities. Otherwise, a gift could easily turn into the trash if the family won't able to eat it. But as for me, a small goodie bag of my favorite cookies and chocolates will be more than enough!
