Best Way to Organize Emails in Gmail in less than 10 minutes

I’ve been a work-from-home mom for the past seven years and I know how hard it can be to stay organized. I have two kids, meaning I have two times more to keep track of than most people.

I do my best to keep my inbox organized, but there are some days when I feel like it never ends. This is when I remember the tips below. They help me stay on top of things and ensure that my inbox is not overflowing with emails.

Gmail Inbox Productivity Tips

The first step to becoming more productive is to organize your inbox. The following are Gmail tips that can help you get started.

1) Create a folder for each project or client and move emails into them as you go.

2) Create labels for emails that you need to follow up on, so they don't get lost in your inbox.

3) Use the search bar at the top of your inbox to find emails by keyword instead of scrolling through your entire inbox.

4) When you're ready to unsubscribe from an email list, archive the email instead of deleting it so it's still searchable later on.

5) Create a filter that blocks emails from certain senders so you can stay focused on your work.

6) Use the Gmail "search all" option and only show results for current days to make it easier to find the newest messages.

7) Use the Priority Inbox feature to sort your emails into three categories: Important, Not urgent, and Urgent.

8) If you're an Android user, download Google's email app (formerly known as the Gmail app ) to gain access to the Priority Inbox feature.

9) If you're on a computer, use Boomerang instead of Gmail's default email app (formerly called Inbox by Gmail) which only offers a priority inbox.

10) If you're using a desktop email client like Outlook or Thunderbird, use the "custom search" option and limit your search results to five emails per day. By editing your search setting, you can make it so that emails older than 10 days are not shown.

As I mentioned above, these tips work for me. It’s possible that they will work for you as well, but if they don’t, they will at least make your inbox look super neat!

In the end, email is going to be with us for a long time, so it's best to treat it as such. It may take some time to perfect your system, but once you do you'll find that you'll be on top of things in no time!
